Way back in 2002, I took a leave of absence from my programming job at IBM and moved to Japan to teach English for a year. I initially purchased Sinderson.com during that year so that I could share some photos and record some of the things Katie and I did during our time in Asia. (In fact, my original site is still up.)

Although blogging platforms were around back then, they were still in their infancy and not near as ubiquitous as they are today. Coding a site didn’t give me the flexibility to share everything I wanted, YouTube did not exist for the videos I filmed, and most of the photos I took were on film.

Things are much easier these days. With the aid of my high speed scanner I hope to archive my activities from 20+ years ago through this very blog. I will retroactively date the posts so you will not see them up top but instead back in the archives. If you subscribe through RSS these “old” posts should show new the day I make them live.
